Whether it's an hour, a skill, or a donation, everything given to MAL goes toward the same goal: making sure Milton's animals are found, cared for, and never forgotten.
Here's where that help is needed most right now.
Shelter volunteer roles ask for at least a 6-month commitment, one shift per week, to give the animals consistency and you time to really get to know them.

If you'd like to help raise funds, in any capacity, we'd love to hear from you. Whether it's running a lemonade stand, helping with outreach, or helping at an event, reach out any time.

Hands-on help running our events, from the Halloween Costume Parade to Christmas and beyond, setup, check-in, activities, whatever's needed on the day.

Answering the phone, taking messages, and greeting the public. 2-hour shifts on weekdays, 4 hours on Saturdays. You'll be around the animals, so allergies could be an issue. Must be 18+.

Cleaning cat cages and rooms, feeding and socializing the cats. Mornings and afternoons, 7 days a week, generally 1–2 hour shifts. Must be 15+.

Daily dog walking. New walkers train with a mentor for at least 6 sessions before going solo. Must be 18+.

Cleaning kennels and feeding dogs on weekend mornings, with the chance to walk dogs too. Afternoon shifts also available. Must be 18+.

One evening check at 8pm: seeing to the animals, cleaning litter boxes, filling water bowls, taking dogs out, and locking up. About an hour. Must be 18+.

Help us find and apply for grants that support MAL's work. A few hours a month, from home, on your own schedule.

Know a local business that might donate a pet-related prize for an event? A quick introduction is all we need.

If you've got a skill or an hour to spare and don't see it listed, tell us anyway. We'll find a place for it.
